Attentive Listening1

Whenever they tell you something, kids wish you would listen to them with full attention. This makes them feel wanted and important. So, if your child wants to talk to you, you should keep aside whatever you are doing, and listen to them. Even if it’s about the colour of a toy, or their favourite pizza topping, listen to every little detail they want you to know and share your opinions too. This may be one of the crucial parenting hacks. It won’t just improve your bonding with your child but will also teach them how to voice out ideas and concerns.

Practicing Empathy1

Does your child share when they are happy, sad, angry, or irritated? Do not simply listen to what he/she has to say. Put yourself into his/her shoes, understand what they are trying to communicate, and convey that to your child. This will touch them, encourage them to share their feelings, and make them feel that you understand their world. A little empathy with the kid may thus be one of the best parenting hacks you can practice.

Showing Affection and Praising2

Show your affections to your child, recognize their contributions, and praise them for his/her good work or talent. Try and show affection, it could be just small actions like writing a note that says, 'I love you' in their lunchbox. This habit of yours will make him/her feel valuable and may indeed be an important parenting hack.

Sharing quality time together3

Even if you have a very busy life, make sure that you spend quality time with your child. It could be reading books, playing outdoor games, trying crafts, visiting places, or even having dinner and doing household chores together. No matter how many people are around, every child craves the company of their parents. The time you spent together, will benefit them in many ways. Like reading, will improve their language skills, vocabulary, attention span, concentration, and memory, outdoor games and domestic chores will raise physical fitness, keep them active, and help them acquire life skills. These clever parenting hacks are not just helpful for the kid but for you too!

Making them independent2

Allow your child to do their own work, be it studies or household chores. Let them fight their own battles at the school or the playground and don’t intervene unless it’s something serious. You can also let them make a budget, keep track of their pocket money spending, and buy things with it, or even discuss child insurance plans with them. It may be one of the genius parenting hacks you can try! Your child will love it, and it would make him/her grow into a confident and independent adult.

Trust parenting hacks. Be the parent your child craves you to be. It can make you happier!
